ABOUT BEAUTY FROM ASHES RANCH: At Beauty From Ashes Ranch (BFAR), a 501(c)(3) Christian non-profit organization, the board, staff, and volunteers all play a part in creating a safe sanctuary to help with the healing from complex trauma that survivors of sexual trafficking and exploitation have endured. We seek to serve these young women survivors with the same love that God has for all His creation, and we believe these women are created in His image, full of worth and purpose. We are a long-term ranch sanctuary where survivors will live in safety, reacclimate to life, find healing for their trauma, and get an education to build the lives that they deserve. Residents live at the ranch on their own accord, and BFAR’s goal is that whether it takes one year or five years, survivors will one day leave the ranch and transition to a new life. This life will be filled by the love of God, free from trauma and shame, and fully equipped for a life of purpose. We plan to welcome our first eight survivor residents starting in early 2025 and grow to a total capacity of 24 residents within a few years.
JOB OVERVIEW: The Program Director will oversee and ensure the effective administration of the ranch and the planning and execution of all Beauty From Ashes Ranch programming that our survivor residents will experience. This position ensures compliance with applicable goals for programs according to the organization's strategic objectives. Planning and management of the programs involve deadlines, milestones, and processes, as well as the development and oversight of budgets and operations. As an essential part of the Beauty From Ashes Ranch leadership team, this individual will coordinate, schedule, and oversee the programming provided by any number of high-level volunteers, a variety of contractors, and/or BFAR staff. Neither the BFAR organization nor its staff provide any direct clinical mental health or medical health care services, but the Program Director, coordinating with the on-site Resident Manager, will ensure the appropriate access for our residents. For residents to receive the mental health and health care services that they need, with appropriate approvals BFAR staff will assist residents in applying for and managing their ACCESS or HC insurance policies and will help residents schedule appointments and provide transportation successfully. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader/manager who is flexible, innovative, consistent, and driven to provide our survivor residents with an effective and meaningful day-to-day experience. The Board of Directors is entirely volunteer, and the Program Director will be the second hired staff position in the organization after the Executive Director.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Program Director (PD) is essentially responsible for managing ranch operations and the overall effectiveness of the daily experience for our survivor residents. This entails coordinating all scheduled programming for our residents provided or led by staff, contractors, or volunteers. The PD ensures that our programming equips our survivors to progress in their healing journey measurably and adapts programming as necessary.
Responsible for developing and managing all administrative processes, property policies, and procedures leading to the location, vetting, approval and assimilation of all survivor residents and their ongoing healing experience. The PD ensures that through training, regular communications, consistent enforcement, and reinforcement, the ranch is a safe and secure environment with personnel and residents who maintain a safe campus by upholding all BFAR Policies.
Responsible for developing and maintaining a two-way client network to consistently locate, be aware of, and engage with future clients. Being that sex-trafficking survivors rarely self-identify due to fear of prosecution, we take a proactive approach to finding and identifying prospective residents rather than waiting for the phone to ring or for them to come to us.
This role will have responsibilities related to helping with development/fund-raising and engaging community leaders, community groups, non-profits, churches, and businesses to join the BFAR community of supporters.
Important notes for potential applicants:
The ranch is a long-term sanctuary, and the Program Director must respond to and be on site expeditiously in any urgent or emergency situations.
The ranch's location is undisclosed for security purposes. It is in Southern Arizona, a roughly 45-minute drive from Tucson.
Upon hiring, the PD will work hybrid, combining work-from-home with work days at the ranch. As we move closer to opening the ranch to welcome residents in early 2025, the PD will be expected to transition to working most days at the ranch to manage and ensure a powerful, effective, and consistent daily programmed experience for our residents.
DIRECT REPORT STRUCTURE The Program Director [PD] reports to the Executive Director (ED)
The Program Director will assist the ED in hiring a full-time onsite Resident Manager. The Resident Manager will directly report to the Program Director.
